Course Structure Options


In-house classes are held in a traditional classroom setting. Taking our in-house class allows students more face time with their instructor and pre-scheduled class times to complete coursework. Courses that are offered in-house are CNA, CNA Recert, CMA, BLS, & TEAS Test Prep.


Our online courses provide our students the oportunity to take Tests, do course work and communicate with their instructor all through a simple yet effective online L.M.S. "Canvas" 

Hybrid (in-house/online)

Our hybrid courses allow students to complete coursework online at their own pace with minimal class time, such as orientations, skills labs, weekly classes, or end-of-course testing. Hybrid courses are CNA, CMA, HHA, SSD/AD, Restorative Aide, Operators, Pharmacy Tech, Phlebotomy, EKG, Medical Assistant, Massage Therapy, & LPN IV Therapy.


We offer different scheduling options for many of our courses, such as daytime, evening and/or weekend. 


Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

Basic Nursing skills are taught in this course, such as taking vital signs and assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (dressing, bathing, eating, walking, etc.). Certified Nurse Aide is the foundation from which many healthcare related careers are built, and many of our courses incorporate knowledge and skills learned as a CNA. Nurse Aides provide care for patients in nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living, and other healthcare facilities.

An active Kansas Nurse Aide Certification is required by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services prior to enrollment in Certified Medication Aide or Home Health Aide. Most nursing schools now require CNA prior to admission to LPN or RN programs. This course is 90 clock hours as required by KDADS, which includes 45 hours of classroom learning, and 45 hours of lab/clinical time.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

The Certified Medication Aide course teaches basic techniques and safety in medication administration. Also studied are commonly used drugs, their classifications, and side effects. CMAs will pass medications to patients or residents, perform treatments, and prepare documentation while working in Kansas Licensed Adult Care Homes. This course is a total of 75 clock hours; 50 classroom hours and 25 clinical hours, as required by KDADS. 

Please note: Per state requirements, students must be 18 years of age, have an active Nurse Aide Certification in Kansas, and pass a reading assessment prior to starting this course.

Home Health Aide (HHA)

Home Health Aides are employed by Home Health Agencies or Hospice Care Providers to provide basic care to those in a home setting. They can assist with a variety of tasks including dressing, ambulation, bathing, housekeeping, laundry, and other services outlined in by the care plan. This course is 20 clock hours as required by KDADS.

Please note: Per state requirements, students must be 18 years of age, have an active Nurse Aide Certification in Kansas, and pass a reading assessment prior to starting this course.

Phlebotomy Technician

In our Phlebotomy Technician course, students learn how to draw blood from patients and blood donors, explain procedures, perform basic point of care testing, and maintain medical equipment. Phlebotomists work in a variety of settings, such as labs, clinics, and hospitals, and most employers require a professional certification.

Students are encouraged to bring adult volunteers for practicing blood draws on scheduled stick days. All volunteers must be 18 years of age and sign a consent and release of liability form.

Upon course completion, and if the necessary venipuncture/dermal draw requirements are met, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Exam cost and registration for the national certification exam is not covered in the course tuition and is the student's responsibility.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants perform a wide range of tasks, such as drawing blood, administering vaccinations, and other point-of-care testing. 

Our Medical Assistant course builds on knowledge from CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy, & EKG, which are prerequisite courses. Medical Assistant students must be 18 years with a high school diploma or GED. This is a 4.5 month long hybrid course with 425 clock hours. Upon course completion, students will qualify to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). BLS/CPR is included in this course.

Please note: CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy, & EKG are prerequisites for enrollment in this course.

All-inclusive course price is $2,850.

Social Service Designee and Activities Director (SSD/AD)

Social Services Designee and Activities Director are separate State of Kansas certifications which we have combined into one course due to their short clock hour requirements and similar course material.

A Social Service Designee will interview residents to ensure their personal needs are being met within a facility, and implement personalized plans of care which are designed to improve or restore Activities of Daily Living, such as eating, bathing, & dressing.

Activity Directors are responsible for creating a variety of scheduled activities that meet the needs and interests of all residents in a long-term or assisted living facility. 

All-inclusive course price is $349.

E.K.G. Technician

The EKG Technician course combines instruction and practical experience in all aspects of Certified EKG Technician practice. Students will learn how to set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests, prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring, edit and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis, and transcribe physicians' interpretations.

In many smaller hospitals, specialty hospitals and clinics, the Phlebotomist is also responsible for doing EKGs. Some specialty hospitals use EKG Technicians exclusively without the need for other certifications. Having a Phlebotomy certification is not required to take this course, but it is encouraged as having both certifications will enhance the potential for quality job placement.

Students must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.

Upon completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the NHA (National Healthcareer Association) certification exam to gain the credential of CET. The cost of the NHA certification exam is not included in the course price and is the student's responsibility.

Massage Therapy

In this course students will learn the art of massage, bodywork, and holistic lifestyle principles of providing care. This course will give the broad array of knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a career that utilizes centuries-old techniques to provide modern preventative care. Our Massage Therapy course is a 535-hour course designed to meet the criteria as set forth by the City of Wichita for Massage Therapy Licensure.

Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technicians are professionals who work in pharmacies located in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and grocery or drug stores. Pharmacy Techs receive prescriptions from patients and doctors, measure, package, and label prescriptions, establish and maintain patient records, process payments and insurance claims, and manage inventory.

Upon successful completion of the course the student will qualify to sit for the National certification exam through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) for the credentials of CPhT. After passing the certification exam students will be eligible to attend clinicals at a local pharmacy.

Students must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.

Operators Course

This 45-hour course is designed for those wishing to provide administrative oversight for an Assisted Living or Home Plus facility in Kansas. As mandated by KDADS, enrollment requirement for this course is either A.) Bachelor’s degree OR B.) Associate’s degree in a healthcare related field OR C.) High school diploma/GED AND healthcare related experience. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply to be a certified Adult Care Home Operator.

All-inclusive course price is $697.

Basic Life Support

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both single-rescuer and team-based basic life support skills for application in both pre-hospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR. CPR certification is required for entrance into most nursing schools and by many employers. Students will learn current best practices for CPR with emphasis on chest compressions and use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator).

All-inclusive course price is $40.

Restorative Aide

Restorative Aides are used in nearly every nursing home, skilled facility, and rehabilitation unit. While working with the therapy department, Restorative Aides help carry out a plan of exercises to maintain a resident’s independence with Activities of Daily Living.

Please note: Students must have an active Nurse Aide Certification in Kansas prior to enrollment in this course.

CMA Update

Kansas Certified Medication Aides must update through continuing education every two years as required by KDADS. This course is designed to satisfy that requirement. The student will learn updates on techniques, procedures, and new medications.

Please note: the CMA certification may be lapsed, but not by more than one year.

CNA Recertification

For CNAs whose certifications have expired, students can complete this one-on-one skills checklist with one of our RN instructors. Once complete we will submit paperwork to KDADS and the Nurse Aide will be reinstated on the Kansas Nurse Aide Registry.

LPN IV Therapy

This course combines instruction and practical experience in advanced aspects of the professional nursing practice of intravenous therapy. This course is aligned with the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice, INS Policies and Procedures for Infusion Nursing, and the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN) guidelines for LPN IV Therapy. This course is designed to be responsive to the evolving role of LPNs in IV therapy while ensuring that students develop and demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and skills with application of critical thinking, clinical reasoning and judgment in the performance of this function, safely and effectively. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the KSBN-approved examination. Passing this examination authorizes LPN’s to practice intravenous therapy within scope of practice as outlined by State of Kansas statutes.
